Purchase fine prints, metal prints, and special orders of select prints from my homepage.
Most of these are from obscured backyard locations (all but Mars are from the South Bay of Los Angeles. Mars was taken in Northen AZ during its 2020 opposition, although I hope to replace that soon with a backyard shot soon in the 2022 opposition). Most of the limitations to the detail on these photos are related to the atmospheric "seeing" - an integrated measure of the light bending properties of the atmosphere - including turbulence and thermal gradients. I could probably use a slight optimization in my collimation, and post processing SW plays a big part (see my planetary blog entry below). I'm glad I finally had a chance to compose this solar system image from images taken over the last 2 years. Yah, you might notice that there is one planet missing (two if you consider your self an old school planetologist). Hopefully in the next year, I'll find a dawn that I'm willing to wake up, travel to unobscured location, and catch Mercury!
